All-night Vigil (Vespers)

Rosenethe Singers' diamond celebrations will continue with a special concert on Sunday, 24th November in the Church of the Holy Rude, Stirling: Rachmaninoff's All-night vigil (Vespers)

Rosenethe Singers last performed Rachmaninoff's masterpiece in 2012, with Andrew Dickinson (tenor) and Matthew Beetschen (conductor), at Dunblane Cathedral and St. Machar's Cathedral, Aberdeen. The memories of the candlelit performance of these ancient chants in Dunblane Cathedral remain, but to many in the choir now, becoming immersed in this work is an exciting new challenge this term.

For the All-Night Vigil, the choir will be joined by David Douglas (tenor) who was sorcerer & sailor at our Spring Concert 2023, Dido and Aeneas (Purcell) and Ruby Ginoris, who will join us for the first time, as alto soloist.

As well as Ruby, two of Rosenethe Singers' own sopranos will be performing solo songs by Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninoff.
